Types Of Diabetes
While most people think of only type 1 and type 2 diabetes, there are actually 3 types of diabetes. The first of course is completely hereditary. There is nothing you can do to prevent it, and it usually sets in during younger years. It can result in excessive urination, thirst, weight loss, vision difficulties, hunger, and fatigue. It can be fatal without proper injections.
Type 2 diabetes is not as sympathetic for many. There are genetic predispositions. But generally speaking, it sets on later in part due to unhealthy diet practices. 90% of all diabetes cases fall into this category. It is known as non insulin dependent diabetes, and some have even found that many of their symptoms subsided with the right diet and exercise plan. The symptoms are usually about the same as type 1, but less severe. It can be treated with medication and sometimes insulin injections. It was before present only in older individuals. But it is starting to show up in obese children.
The third type is gestational diabetes. It is seen only in pregnant women, and it is typically caught in prenatal screenings. After all, many of the symptoms can be overlooked with pregnancy in general. The symptoms are less pronounced, but still include thirst, excessive urination, and hunger. They can continue to have diabetes after the birth of the baby. But with all of these forms of diabetes, diet and exercise is not only important, but vital.
