“Clinically proven to reduce body fat,” Lipozene claims to reduce weight, reduce body fat, and do it without negative side effects. It was created by Obesity Research Institute LLC, and it offers weight loss without the work. They sell largely through infomercials. The main ingredient is glucomannan, which has been shown to aid weight loss by creating a feeling of fullness in the right doses.


Ingredients and Mechanism of Action

Glucomannan, the main and seemingly only ingredient included in LIpozene is a soluble fiber undigestible in the human body. As such, it absorbs water, and when taken in doses of 1 gram with 8 ounces of water 3 times a day, it can promote feelings of fullness and therefore reduced caloric intake for most individuals. Over an 8 week period of time, the average user of glucomannan lost about 5.5 pounds without any negative side effects.

Marketing Strategy and Warnings

Lipozene’s main method of advertising is through infomercials, which basically screams scam. We all get pulled into infomercials, but they are the method used by shady retailers, because it requires them to provide the smallest level of accountability to their customer base. Second, they provide no ingredients list. They say they use glucomannan, and they claim each pill contains 1500mg. But they provide no complete ingredient list(ie active an inactive ingredients, etc)to prove it.

They also claim to offer a free bottle after the purchase of a first bottle and a 30 day money back guarantee. A free trial offer first of all indicates to me that they are vastly overcharging for a worthless product. The second thing it indicates is that they are going to sign you up for a difficult to cancel autoship program with or without your knowledge. A money back guarantee is nice, but if you have ever tried other diet products, 30 days is not a descent amount of time. They also require that you call them to get a return authorization number before making any returns, most likely so they can tell you all the reasons why it wouldn’t be in your best interest to try to return the product in the first place.

Overall Impressions of Lipozene:

Would I buy Lipozene. Definitely not. They provide no accountability to their consumer base, and there is no reason to think they can back up the claims they have made about their product.

After the 3rd day of taking only one pill before each meal I had some disturbing and a bit frightening chest pain when taking the next (and last) one. I will be sending the rest back.

Doesn't work for weightloss, but it gave my stomach asid something to munch on instead. Kept my nervious stomach busy and stopped that feeling.

I took it for about 3 weeks, drank plenty of water, but still suffered irregularity and no weightloss. I then recieved 2 bottles in the mail (not ordered)and was charged about 60.00. When I called to see how to return it I was told I could only return the trial bottle. I then requested never,ever to be sent anymore products. How I was sent those I still don't know since I was still on my 30 day "trial" period.

I went through the two bottles with lots of cardio and weights. Didnt see improvement while on this product.I want my fucken money back!

In all honesty, I used it only 1 month. I did not see a change in my weight. And I am only strugling to lose last 10-15 lbs to get down 185.

My friends n family say i'm losing w8. May b no 1 else is using it right. I've also noticed that I'm not getting sick like every1 else. While others are sneezing and coughing around me, I have an "invisible shield" around me. This pill has more than one function!!!! I'm definatley buying more!!!!!!!!!

I used this sh!t and added a little cardio to my workouts for a month and did not see any changes. I actually had quite a few dizzy spells while on this sh!t. There's something really wrong with this sh!t and it's gonna come out, hopefully sooner then later, before someone gets hurt or worse. Everybody should get their money back. Can't wait for the class action lawsuit.

i have not used lipozene. i have never really experimented with wieght loss pills because of the side effects. i have only tried one kind one time. it was called alli! its is all natural and safe. it is kind of like a detoxifier. sorry to be so blunt but it makes you poop out the fat that you eat. you can see results in about two days. you will see your bowels come out orange and greasy. like i said sorry for so much details but i want to explain the full effects. it also can make you a little gassy!! it makes you feel lighter and less fatigued. it makes you feel energized....like any detoxifier would. you will hopefully, like i did, see results in waist size in a week or two. take one capsule before every meal. i highly recommend ALLI. it is great!!!!! quit trying all of the crap with so many ingrediants that i cant even say or spell that sound posionous and un natural. natural ingrediants, detoxifying and eating a little it healthier is all you need for your weight loss problems!!
