Metabolife Reviews
Metabolife has an interesting tagline used for advertising purposes, “Trusted Partner in Weight Loss.”
The official Website actually takes a unique approach too, it’s almost as if selling the different products is secondary to informing people how to lose weight which is a refreshing approach you won’t see very often. It does make for a much more trust-worthy Website if you ask me, but that’s not really what people want from a weight loss supplement. We want something that works.
Metabolife actually offers 7 different products — 4 are marketed toward weight loss and 3 toward weight management. Let’s dig a little deeper to find out if Metabolife offers what you’re looking for.

A Little Background on Metabolife
Metabolife got its start back in the hay day of ephedra. At that time, it seemed as if dozens of new ephedra-based diet pills were hitting the shelves every single day. So Metabolife, like Hydroxycut cut made a name for itself. And when ephedra was banned for its dangerous side effects, of course rather than die out, Metabolife adapted and created several different formulas without the ephedra.
Currently you can purchase the main diet pill from Metabolife called Metabolife Ultra or there’s also Metabolife Caffeine Free, Metabolife Green Tea, Metabolife Green Tea + Vitamin D3, Metabolife Breakthrough, Metabolife Extreme Energy and Slender Satisfaction.
Each product is made for a slightly different purpose and includes a different formula, but many contain a similar base of ingredients with some exceptions.

Main Ingredients and Mechanism of Action
The main base of ingredients in the different Metabolife weight loss products is:
Calcium: Calcium doesn’t automatically come to mind when most people think of weight loss. Most people connect it with strong bones and teeth, but it can aid with the fat-burning process as long as you’re getting it from the right source. Obviously high-fat sources of calcium aren’t going to be good. With sufficient amounts of calcium, the body actually stores less fat. It’s a good mineral to find in a diet pill even if it isn’t that common.
Chromium: Chromium is an ingredient you’ll find in diet pills much more often than you will find calcium. Chromium is actually a nice appetite suppressant. In studies, chromium has been shown to increase the efficiency of insulin. This helps to increase energy and also helps enhance the fat burning process. It’s another nice ingredient to have in a weight loss supplement.
Potassium: We like potassium too. Potassium isn’t actually directly involved in the weight loss process or your metabolism but it can help the body better process the nutrients and minerals that are involved with energy levels, metabolism and fat burning.
Garcinia: Most studies on garcinia have been conducted on animals but there is promise here. Many studies have shown garcinia can inhibit fat storage and helps users control their appetite.
Proprietary Combination of Ingredients: This is where it gets a little dicey when it comes to Metabolife. While the other ingredients are nice, you don’t know exactly what you get with the proprietary blends in the different Metabolife formulas. Each product has its own proprietary blend. For example the Metabolife Ultra has caffeine in it and the Metabolife Green Tea has green tea, but there’s no way to know if they’ve included effective amounts in them.
All the formulas seem to contain a number of vitamins and minerals to keep the body in balance including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, Vitamin B6, pantothenic acid, calcium, etc which have been shown to promote weight loss through different methods. However, the benefits of some are believed to be marginal at best and without knowing what you actually get in the proprietary blend we have to turn to what people are saying to find out a little more about the effectiveness of Metabolife.
What are People Saying About Metabolife?
If you read reviews from people, you can expect some mixed feelings about any diet pill, and the same goes here. But, unfortunately, you’ll find many more reviews from users that aren’t exactly positive. Some people like the energy boost, but complain they aren’t losing weight. Other people don’t see the results they expect.
Of course, some of that can be blamed on the individual if they don’t change to a healthier diet or exercise. But after reading through reviews, looking into the formulas and testing Metabolife, I can’t say it’s the most impressive diet pill. If you do decide to use it, be sure you aren’t cutting yourself short by being lazy and skipping exercise or overeating. I guarantee it won’t work if you take that approach.
Metabolife Drawbacks
The problem we find with most products formerly based on ephedra is that their ingredients are ordinary and sub-par at best. Metabolife is no exception. None of the ingredients stand out, and a number of them have never actually been proven not to do anything toward the promotion of weight loss.
Metabolife goes one step further. Not only did they use ephedra, but Metabolife founder Michael Ellis was indicted by the FDA for attempting to obstruct the regulation of ephedra. It’s one thing to not investigate an ingredient for safety purposes before using, but to actually know about the dangers and disregard them is something else.
As a company, they were also investigated by the IRS for tax evasion, and they ultimately pled guilty. They faced more than $1 billion in personal injury claims as well as a major decline in sales, and they filed for bankruptcy in 2005. Metabolife has never actually recovered from the ephedra ban, nor have they found any ingredients to replace ephedra in their formula.
Most of their formulas now use a large amount of caffeine and have been associated with a number of negative side effects.
Overall Impression of Metabolife
Metabolife has never been known as an innovative or breakthrough company and the reviews show it’s not overly impressive. Again, you can see results with Metabolife, I don’t doubt it, but you may not see the results you’re looking for especially if you don’t exercise and eat right. Click here to visit the official site to buy this for $29.99.
Metabolife has a number of good ingredients and their green tea formula might be the best, but there are a couple options we would actually recommend over Metabolife, including Apidextra. You can learn more about Apidextra at Apidextra.com

debbie teigen Says:
if this pill is beige and oblong… it made me very ill. Cold to the core, sivering , then very hot, felt ill for 8 hours, too much caffine, headache, sore muscles… not taking them ever again. Why I had to ask if it is not a small red pill as I mixed 2 together while on a flying vacation.

Metabolife doesn’t work! It’s a waste of time, and it has a ton of caffeine. I thought caffeine was supposed to burn more fat, but apparently not.

I wouldn’t use Metabolife. It doesn’t help. I’ve struggled with my weight for a while, and Metabolife hasn’t helped at all. It didn’t make the problem worse, though it has caused some side effects. I didn’t lose a single pound using Metabolife.
