Smartburn Review

Smartburn

Smartburn claims to be “one of the most powerful weight loss supplements on the market today.” It uses hoodia to reduce appetite, HCA to control your appetite, and other “clinically proven components” to otherwise promote weight loss. It is sold at multiple retail stores including GNC, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kmart, and Fredmeyer. They advertise a potential weight loss of “450% the weight than diet and exercise alone.”

Ingredients and Mechanism of Action

Smartburn uses a number of ingredients including green tea, garcinia cambogia, chromium polynicotinate, and gymnema sylvestre extract. It also cites clinical studies to back up the idea that the combination of garcinia cambogia, chromium polynicotinate, and gymnema sylvestre extract promotes weight loss.

While the idea of a clinical study is comforting to many of us, the only study on the combination of garcinia cambogia, chromium polynicotinate, and gymnema sylvestre was conducted by the Univeristy of Cameroon. That’s an odd place to conduct a major clinical study on an American product in the first place. Then add to that the fact that there are no other studies to back up the supposed results obtained. The study was also conducted on only those three ingredients and not the Smartburn formula.

All of the other ingredients in Smartburn can be found in just about every other diet pill currently on the market. They also claim to use hoodia. But the fact is a substantial amount more hoodia is sold than is actually harvested, making your chances of getting the real thing slim at best. They sell only through certain major retail stores, which means there is no money back or satisfaction guarantee associated with the product. There are also no customer testimonials posted on their official website or any other website selling Smartburn that I checked.

Overall Impressions of Smartburn:

While Smartburn may claim to be and want to be “one of the most powerful weight loss supplements on the market today”, they simply don’t have the evidence to back that claim up. They use one total clinical study, and its results have not been replicated and are questionable at best. There is no money back or satisfaction guarantee. So when you are ready to take the product back, you will not get your money back.

I work out vigorously 3-6 times a week depending on my work schedule and eat a strict diet. I gain muscle easily, but usually have a hard time losing abdominal fat. I decided I to try smart burn to see if I could get some help and saw no results after a month.
