Z-Trim Review

Z trim claims to be a unique ingredient which helps to “produce delicious foods” which are “lower in calories and fat.” It is a fiber that they say can be used for fat replacement, fat binding, emulsification, shaping, suspension, and appetite control or suppression. It is manufactured from insoluble plant fibers and claims to be able to reduce the obesity problem.

Ingredients and Mechanism of Action

Z trim is used as a fat replacer, and it is manufactured in an easy to use gel, to be mixed into a variety of foods. When used in quantities up to 50%, it can reduce calories and increase fiber. It can also maintain flavor and texture. Side effects tested seem minimal if at all.

Z trim is only available at www.ztrim.com. So there aren’t a multitude of competitors out there to lower the available price. In studies, while tasters had a hard time telling the difference between Z trim and real fat, it did not manage blood sugar levels or fat as much as other fiber forms. There has also been only one study actually conducted on Z trim in 2002. It has not yet been replicated.

Overall Impressions of Z Trim

Z trim is a relatively new product on the market. As such, they have not fully tested its efficacy or its potential side effects. It has limited availability, and in the one study conducted thus far, it was shown to be not as effective as other available fibers in doing the job it promises. I would wait and see on this particular ingredient.
