Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract Review

Dr. Oz is notorious for making weight loss ingredients popular, so when he dubbed garcinia cambogia as the “fastest fat-buster,” Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract sales sky-rocketed.

Although this product is not endorsed by Dr. Oz specifically, Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract is advertised as the perfect solution to “start burning fat now!”

Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract supposedly suppresses appetite and increases serotonin levels to improve your mood.

But does this all-natural supplement deserve the attention?

I can’t help but a little skeptical, so I did a little research of my own. Here’s what I found. . .

What’s Inside The Bottle?

When looking for a dietary supplement, it’s always important to check the label. Some formulas are hidden behind proprietary blends which make it impossible to tell how effective or safe a product is.

Fortunately, Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract has each ingredient concentration listed openly on the label:

Calcium – 50 mg. Calcium is an essential part of bones and teeth, though it is also found in the blood, muscles, and other tissue. Calcium prevents oseteoporosis and may make an effective solution for lowering blood pressure and even promoting weight loss. [1]

Chromium – 200 mcg. Chromium picolinate is a mineral that plays a role in carbohydrate breakdown and utilization. Studies suggest chromium may reduce hunger cravings, but it does not have a direct impact on weight loss. [2] [3]

Potassium – 50 mg. Potassium plays a role in nerve signal transmissions, muscle contractions, and fluid balance. It is also required for proper calcium absorption. Some experts recommend taking 48-90 mg daily to reduce blood pressure. [4]

Garcinia Cambogia (60% HCA) – 1000 mg. Garcinia cambogia is a tasteless, odorless herbal extract commonly used to treat obesity. It is said to increase serotonin levels and inhibit fat synthesis, making it easier to lose weight.

However, garcinia cambogia research is fairly mixed. Some studies show it’s an effective appetite suppressant, while others said it had no positive effect on weight loss. [5] [6]

Are There Any Side Effects to Worry About?

Garcinia cambogia research is limited, so its full effects (both positive and negative) have yet to be determined.

When used for 12 weeks or less, garcinia may be safe to use.

However, it is also linked to nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headache. [7]

Recommended Usage

According to the label, dieters should take 1 capsule 2 times a day at least 30 minutes before meals. Each serving should be taken with at least 8 oz. of water.

Do not take more than the recommended dose. Taking more will only increase your side effect risk, not your weight loss results.

Because garcinia’s safety is yet to be determined, it is not recommended that you take Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract for more than 12 weeks.

What Consumers Are Saying

Out of the 26 reviews currently posted at, Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract averaged a 4.5 out of 5 star rating.

As with any other dietary supplement, consumer reviews are fairly mixed. Some loved their results, while others found it did not work for them.

“Dr. Oz endorsed this product for weight loss*. I lost 3 pounds the first week and then 2 more pounds the second week. If I continue to lose 2 pounds / week – I’d be very satisfied. It has suppressed my appetite and given me more energy. My goal is to lose 55 pounds.” – Alex,

“I modified my calorie intake worked out 4-5 times weekly, and cut bad carbs and I lost no weight at all.” – Pen name,

*Dieters should note that even though Dr. Oz discussed garcinia’s potential for weight loss, he does not endorse any specific.

Pick It or Pitch It?

Assuming that garcinia cambogia is effective for weight loss, then Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract may be a good way to lose a few extra pounds.

However, consumer reviews leave me skeptical of this product’s performance, and the lack of manufacturer information puts me on edge.

If you don’t know who made a supplement, how do you know if it’s safe to use?

Until more information is available, I don’t feel comfortable recommending Pure Garcinia Cambogia Extract.
